WARM UP THIS WINTER WITH JOHNNIE-O’S FAVORITE WHISKEY DRINKS

What can we say? We like good alcohol! In the summer, our go-to cocktail is the johnnie-O Light & Sunny, and we’re always in the mood for a cold Golden Road Brewery beer, but now that winter is in full force, we are craving the warmth of good whiskey.

Are you thirsty yet? Well, we can remedy that. No matter where you are in the country or what kind of whiskey drink you are looking for this winter, try out one (or all three!) of the recipes below.

Tall Ginger-Pear Highball

Made with Berkshire Bourbon – for the guy looking to try something new

Ingredients:

2 oz. Berkshire Bourbon

1 oz. Fresh squeezed lemon & lime juice

.75 oz. Ginger Syrup*

Fresh Peaches

Peychaud’s Bitters

Peach Bitters

Mint leaf

Directions:

  1. Muddle peaches in mixing glass.
  2. Pour ingredients into a mixing glass. Add ice. Shake well up to 10 seconds.
  3. Strain into chilled Collins glass and ice.
  4. Garnish with fresh peach and mint leaf (smacked to release oils).

*Ginger Syrup Directions:

In a large pot, add 2 quarts sugar, 3 quarts water and 1 quart ginger. Bring to a boil and reduce by 1/3. Cool and strain.


Manhattan

Made with Bulleit Rye – for the traditional guy

Ingredients:

1 oz. Bulleit Rye

0.5 oz. sweet vermouth

3 dashes aromatic Bitters

1 cherry

Directions:

  1. Place ice in a mixing glass.
  2. Pour in vermouth, then rye, and stir.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass.
  4. Add the bitters and garnish with a cherry.

A play on “The Bee and The Monk

Made with Island Coconut Beach Whiskey – For the guy in cold weather looking for a taste of the tropics

Ingredients:

1 1/2 ounces Island Coconut Beach Whiskey

1/4 ounce Yellow Chartreuse

2 ounces coconut water

1/2 ounce raw honey syrup

1 ounce lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Place ice in a mixing glass.
  2. Pour all ingredients in together, and strain into chilled glass.
